Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Oakland's Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), using Federal emergency rental assistance funds, will provide financial assistance to owners of 100% Affordable Housing buildings and their low-income tenants impacted by COVID-19 to cover past rent due. Funding is provided to  the property owners.

The application period opens April 1, 2021 and will now close April 30, 2021 or upon expenditure of funds. For more information, please click here.

Emergency Broadband Benefit

There is a new Emergency Broadband Benefit offered by the FCC, which subsidizes in-home internet access for low-income Americans, up to $50/month, discounts broadband services up to $75/mo for households on Tribal lands, and covers the costs of a device, up to $100, if a family contributes between $10 and $50. Participating providers will be listed here and additional program information can be found here.
