HUD is extending the deadline for written feedback on proposed changes to Chapter 9 of the Section 8 Renewal Policy Guidebook until midnight Eastern Time on June 6, 2022. 

 A revised draft of Chapter 9 of the Section 8 Policy Guidebook, Rent Comparability Studies, was posted to the Multifamily Policy Drafting Table on April 21, 2022. HUD appreciates feedback on this document as they work to ensure that HAP contract rents accurately reflect market rental values. The draft chapter, along with a redline version and a worksheet to record feedback, can be found here. All feedback should be emailed to S8RPG@hud.gov

In order to ensure stakeholders have an opportunity to express feedback regarding this draft guidance, HUD has scheduled a live listening session for Friday, May 20, 2022 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM EDT. Any party who would like to share thoughts on this chapter is encouraged to attend. Three-minute speaking slots will be available, with a limit of one speaking slot per participating organization. To receive an invitation to the listening session and request a speaking slot or reasonable accommodations to facilitate in participation in the session, please pre-register for the even here. Registration for this event will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18. Please note that speaking slots will be provided in the order that they are requested during pre-registration. All registrants are invited to submit written feedback if they are not provided a speaking slot for this session.
