An Overview of HUD Initiatives and Resources

Please join the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) and The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for an overview of HUD initiatives and resources. WHIAANHPI is charged with driving an ambitious, whole-of-government agenda to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for AA and NHPI communities.
 
The webinar is free and will be held on Wednesday, August 24, from 12:00pm-1:00pm PT | 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET.

Welcome Remarks by White House Executive Director Krystal Ka’ai

 
Panel Discussion, followed by Q&A:

  • Ashwin Warrior, HUD, Special Assistant in the Office of Recapitalization will present HUD’s overall plans in improving housing conditions for marginalized communities, including AANHPI.
  • Chang Chiu, HUD, Senior Policy Advisor with FHEO will discuss HUD-issued policies that ensure protections against anyone experiencing hate or discrimination as it relates to fair housing.
  • Jason Pu, HUD, Regional Administrator, Region 9 will discuss issues and what’s working in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.
  • Maria Bynum, Delaware Field Office Director, HUD, Region 3 will present “real world” examples that showcase how HUD has positively impacted local communities, including those that have high concentrations of AANHPI.
